This was a project that my teacher assigned over the winter break. We were supposed to veiw someone or something through a reflection. It's named "Cocaine Girls of Poker" because when I was painting I dropped water on the bottom part of the chin and so I wiped off the water [imagine that] and where I wiped off the water was a part of the television schedule. Underneath the missing paint spot read:
" Cocaine
Girls
of Poker"
But yeh, this was done on Canvas with Newspaper glued on top, Acrylic Paint, and a bit of Sharpie.

My teacher brought up a good point saying that I dont really have a foreground, so he suggested that I add shoulders just to give this painting a feeling of depth. Opinions on this subject would be MOST welcome.
i dig it. something more solid beneath the head would help to ground the piece a bit better (shoulders maybe like your teach suggested?). but no real complaints. that gray area under the head looks like it could be a collar to a leather jacket or something.
i dont really want to add anything behind the head because i like the way the many layers of paint feels, like the background was imprinted in. yes on the shoulders, im starting to like the idea more, i originally tried to make a collar but it it made him look even more like a greaser. but maybe shoulders wouldnt be so bad. thanx for the comment.
